The same friend who asked me for a few president silhouettes also wanted a cover-like illustration were she comments basically, how the Tunisian boy who incinerated himself made a "click" on manifestations in the Middle East/Around the world.I wanted to illustrate a bit of what I interpreted from her report how England/the World are handling themselves. It's not THAT original, but I liked the idea of pointing out that no matter what you do, you either get your ass kicked or turn into a silent sheep. (Again, please try to avoid extra-angry criticisms on politics. Just enjoy the pic)

2 of my favourite 3D movies. Kung Fu panda 2 is so great, so sincere to the dialogues. Well and for once I actually laugh to the jokes. "Mum... Dad?" "Honey, we've replaced you with this beautiful raddish" I want it NOW on DVD. I think it's one of the few 3D movies that actually says to me "You have to do this". I drew these from memory after watching the movie, that's why there are terrible design mistakes.

Pretty Women- crorrect me if I'm wrong, but I think that the composer from Super 8 stole just like that, the "Pretty Women" melody from Sweeney Todd and applied it to the main character's mother? (Yep boys and girls, that's called a RANDOM THOUGHT XS XD)

X-Men:First Class- Loved the movie! So much fun!! It's like the incredibles; when my sister and I came out we chatted a looong time "yes, remember the part when Elasticgirl stetches to take the guard's keys and she gets trapped but she can't do anything blah blah" I think that kind of comments are difficult to make nowadays, they don't exist X) HArdly we come out from the cinema "And I love the part when..." "Oh and you that creature when" "That guy deserved to die" etc. Sequences don't exist, pursuits are boring. The important thing is the message- who cares if the movie is fun? Anyway, the movie may try to crumple up just too many sequences and stories at a time, but it's fantastic, really. Beauty adaptaion. SOme of my fave characters

Mamma mia I laughed so much. "Get the door" already made me smile. "HAT" And so on. Seriously, this should be exposed, I don't know why people don't comment on this. I had this amazing luck to work with a friend in a professional way- she had to give out a magazine for the uni, made as if it had to be sold for the public (published, duh). Obviously we weren't payed for this, but you know do not how useful this to me. What the client wants, specific opinions and changes, etc. She was very patient with me tho- I think that's quite surreal in the business world X)

Ok, before I begin, please, pretty please. No politic comments/points of view, rants, "you'rewrongI'mright" silliness. Just have fun and enjoy.

What she really wanted to do I can't really tell, ha. I should read the whole mag (I don't have a copy... yet) but I can give you a vague idea. Some kind of parody to those who handle the world their way (a.k.a politicians). Some are better than others.

Geraldine Chaplin in "Gulliver's Travels" Beautiful movie, opens your eyes just like that and makes you 100% conscious of a specific perspective, point of view. Maybe a tad innocent (after all, this is for any kind of public) but completely direct. Highly recommended. This and other actors don't appear enough though.

Incredible. The randomness and indifference is great- at the same is like some kind of relief "Aaaaaah... I'm so happy I could sing... peace, duuuuude"

Sam Huntington as Josh, the werewolf of the USA Being Human version. it's a 'meh' version of the original... I'd only recommend it if you're a fan of the Bri'ish one or vampires/werewolves/ghosts, but it's not really worth it. There's something a bit bland about their performances...

I wanted to try to use Mulatier's fab technique of turning humans into animals, (weird there are no images, here's the book of what I'm talking about http://www.amazon.com/Animals-Who-Govern-Jean-Mulatier/dp/1869983009 ) but it didn't come out as I wanted, bdlegh. I mean, after watching this pic , wouldn't you consider he comes from a human rodents family? Or at least raised by squirrels? perhaps his facial features aren't iconic enough to make a caricature. You'll prob recognise him from Superman Returns, as Jimmy Olsen. (I think)

Hi-ho-hey!! 6 months... lovely X) Anyway, no matter how long, I always come back. As always, too much work, not just drawing, thankfully I have a job were I'm teaching little boys + girls English and art. They're fantastic. They call your name just to see you "Caty! Hey Caty!" It's amazing. Obviously whenever they like they transform into little bastards disguised as dwarfs with cute eyes and heads, but their freshness and let's say... happiness is contagious, inspiring. In future posts I'll share some of their beautiful drawings, you'll see. ;)

A present for a friend, I printed this on a shirt. It's funny because after working on this present over 3 moths (YES aaaaaagh) she said "Who told you I saw Metropolis? I've never seen it in my life" "But you were the one who told me Maria appeared belly dancing. You love that part!" "No"
Anyway, so I probably dreamed it. At least I have a new shirt. I did a different were we share our tastes in a non-dream way- I'll post that later!

INSPIRATIONAL MINUTE!

This idea came like a silver light to me. The past few months I've been very lost towards what to do, who should I look to study--- internet is like heaven/hell the many, many, images of great artists out there.
"Influential map" helped me to grab my priorities and, due to the images, memorize them in an easy way. Ah yes and it's sooooooooo fun. Eco aquí:

The place where I go to learn isn't easy to reach either (also I find it an irony in swimming I'm surrounded by naked bodies and I can't draw them because it would be illegal or something) Anyway, it's thanks to life drawing I began using straight lines for help (sure helped) When I spent a time in Buenos Aires I had a L.D. teacher, a woman who was crazy, but she had a sweet way to express herself. "It's all in directions, you know dear? In a month if you keep using straight lines, you'll have everything solved. You don't even need me as a guide. You know dear? As simple as that"

Well, first off, thanks to all people who commented on my blog- just pure sweetness!!! I've been busy lately with many to do's (unfortunately not artistic X)) In fact, all posted here I could've done in less than a month, but because of the "other stuff" it derived to "5 months".

Bah- here's some sketcheerios, a bit of everything.

A cat of hope for my aunt, who lost one of her siamese cats. It's a real shame- he was a quiet and cuddly little person...

A Death Eater (no idea who, prob Andromeda or Regulus X)The large part of the helmet represents Voldemort club's wisdom, and the lower part is to show that even though they easily handle a target, they're only treated like horses. Bah, pretty much like the human being, always in front of a screen reducing us to one hypnotizing objective XD

Mr. Mignola's "The Hydra & the Lion" is probably one of my favourite "mini-stories", the idea of subconscious memories and undefined conclusions... therefore, I had to draw something related to it... Herculeses à la Mignola!!!

Once upon a time there was a bird who had an excellent talent to fly planes, but unfortunately looses an arm due to an accident- therefore loosing his job and his dreams. One day he finds someone with whom he'll learn he doesn't need a plane to let his soul fly. Obviously this is a story I'll never, ever write in my life.

I owe my sister a Pokemon, so I drew one of my favourite back when I used to play those adictive Gameboys. He was one of the best because he could sleep his rival and weaken him while it's asleep with "Eat dreams" (I think you call it like that). No other Pokemon had that, hah. Thanks to Gengar I managed to capture Entei XD

I'm trying real hard to follow Mr. Kricfalusi's animation lessons. I swear I have n o idea what I want to do for a living in the future- (although I think he wanted to kill me when I told him I wasn't sure if I wanted to be an animator)

BUT

what he teaches is basically the key, from my POV, to draw ANYTHING. The fluidity the characters move in his examples are similar to pure and perfect.

Harry Potterets

Charlotte Gainsburg sketch (in fact, they are all sketches) I really liked her performance in "Antichrist"- although the movie is quite... weird. Weird as in it begins well with a good narration but then ends a la Shining (but worse) with Charlotte slicing off her husband's penis and then her own vagina as a symbol of virginity. It's... hm. I don't know, not my cup of tea. I'm never going to forget the "You BAH-AH-stard!" screaming, though.

This was after I watched Hellboy 2 in SPANISH. Quick silly gag with Niles/Abe & Frasier/Beast. Then I saw the movie with my sister in ENGLISH. So, yes, this sketch means absolutely nothing. But I liked the colours.

What's worse, my 7 year-old sister also created something inspired by Hellboy 2- as in, much more cooler, creative, and original than what I did.

To begin, here's some last month's Harry Potter idea designs & more Marvel (baddies) silhouettes

Kingsley Shacklebolt & Tell-Tale Tunic: mini invention about an inherited tunic which tells the past, present & future with specific images. Even the most expert fortuneteller will have problems understanding them, because they're constantly changing. Yeah kinda silly, who the heck cares about Kingsley Shacklebolt. Anyway.

Minerva McGonagall, the animagus- i highlighted her spine to reflect her pose towards complicated situations and to show off her... coldness.

Dear Ol Mr. Weasley- always working on Muggle stuff so I guess he never has the time to eat- that's why I made him skinny. Ah yes, and a muggle shirt. :)

Another person who's always working and never has the time to eat. Plus a large, old Greeky toga (not ambiguous tunic/toga like thingy) which makes him majestic (and sexy), as a symbol of the moral weight he has to carry.

Trelawney must be a superstitious woman, so she avoids black as much she can on her clothes. Rowling describes her glasses made her look like an insect, but she didn't specify which- so I chose a mantis. Plus endless jewelry collection.

Lupin, probably one of my favourite characters :) his tight trench coat is some kind of metaphor about his animal-persona retention by the Whomping Willow. He's poor, so he always has difficulties on nutrition.. but when he turns into a werewolf I guess he has this "all-you-can-eat" feast- hence the "extra belly"

Tonks- Yep, agreed, gothic - but I added a bit of colour, that's how more or less I picture her- "gothic-cute"
